Georgia Tech is trying a new recruiting pitch: Come to GT and you might see a movie star.
That's what several of Georgia top high school juniors were hoping this past weekend when the coaching staff took them for a tour of campus and stopped at the baseball fields where Clint Eastwood was shooting scenes from his new movie "Trouble with the Curve." According to MTV.com , the movie "revolves around an aging baseball scout (played by Eastwood), who goes on a road trip to Atlanta with his daughter to check out a potential recruit" and stars Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake.
Unfortunately for the recruits, the stars were not out as they rolled by, so it wasn't exactly a selling point. But the idea that there might have been Hollywood royalty on Georgia Tech's campus created a little bit of intrigue.
"That was awesome, seeing how everything was set up," JJ Green, an all-purpose athlete from Camden County High School told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution . "We probably should've stayed around there and tried to get into the movie."

| The New Jersey Devils' 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night was win No. 650 for Martin Brodeur. He's one victory away from having 100 more wins than any other goalie in NHL history — Wednesday, in fact, is the three-year anniversary of Brodeur equaling Patrick Roy's record of 551 career wins.
So despite some early-season struggles , Brodeur is playing great hockey, winning games with frequency and looking like he'll return for another season with the Devils in 2012-13.
Yet if his brother had his way, Brodeur would be 16 regular-season victories away from retirement -- because he thinks it'd be wholly appropriate if a Devils goalie retired after hitting the Number of the Beast.
From Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record:
"I never really thought about numbers after I passed (the record)," Brodeur said. "My brother said you've got try to get to 666 because that's the number of the Devil."
Brodeur, who will turn 40 on May 6, can't get to that number this season because the Devils have only 14 regular season games remaining (after tonight). His contract is up after this season, but he's leaning toward coming back for at least another season. "It would be a short season, though, if I have to stop (at 666)," he joked
Please keep in mind that in the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic "End of Days ", it was revealed that the number of the Devil was actually '666' turned upside-down: '999'. So if that's the target, Brodeur might be tending goal for the Devils through the final year of the Kovalchuk contract ...

| National anthem flubs can either be career defining calamities — messing up the Super Bowl pregame tune is forever known as " pulling a Christina Aguilera " — or inspiring moments of humanity, like when that crowd in Norfolk helped 8-year-old Elizabeth Hughes finish the "Star Spangled Banner."
Singer and Ottawa native Tara Holloway was booked to sing then U.S. and Canadian anthems before the Ottawa Senators' home game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night, an honor she called "neat" on Twitter.
It nearly became a horror show during the French-language portion of "O Canada." Luckily, the Ottawa Senators fans made the best save of the game before it started.
Kudos to the crowd, and kudos to Holloway for a humble and endearing reaction. Check out more about Holloway on here official website. | |
| File this under "Things John Elway would rather not happen when Peyton Manning is at Broncos headquarters while you're trying to convince him that Denver is a wonderful place to play football".
Three Broncos, linebacker D.J. Williams, defensive tackle Ryan McBean, and tight end Virgil Green, have been suspended for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances . Williams and McBean are out for the first six games of the 2012 season. Green will sit for four.
Vic Lombardi of CBS4 in Denver reports that Williams and McBean will file federal lawsuits against the NFL on Monday .
The tests for those two turned up a "non-human" sample, but Williams released a statement in which he claims that he's the victim of a Ryan Braun-type situation . He accuses the NFL's specimen collector of failing to do his job properly. Here's the full statement he released:
I understand from media reports today that the NFL has announced a suspension based on a specimen that the NFL acknowledges did not contain steroids or any illegal substance. Instead, the NFL contends that I provided a non-human specimen.
I have never failed a test of any kind — for steroids or illegal substances — during my eight-year pro career. I am proud of my record and proud of the way in which I conduct myself as a professional athlete and citizen. We proved — conclusively — at the NFL hearing on this matter that the NFL and its specimen collector wholly failed in their duties to safeguard and process my specimen properly.
