Carli Lloyd saved the U.S. women's soccer team from an epic collapse in its first home game of the year. Lloyd's goal in the 91st minute gave the Americans a 3-2 victory against Australia on Sunday night in an exhibition game. US women's soccer team to face Canada in Washington
The U.S. women's soccer team will face Canada on May 10 in Washington, D.C., as part of its preparations for the Beijing Olympics. The U.S. and Canada both will be at the Summer Games representing the CONCACAF region. The Americans also have pre-Olympic matches scheduled against Australia on April 27 in Cary, N.C., and on May 3 in Birmingham, Ala.

Zack Schilawski scored the winning goal in his return to his hometown, lifting Wake Forest to a 2-1 victory over Ohio State in the NCAA College Cup championship Sunday. Schilawski snapped a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 77th minute to help his team win the first NCAA men's soccer title in school history.

Jon Lowery never expected his alma mater to wind up facing his new team at the College Cup. The former Ohio State goalkeeper and assistant is now on Wake Forest's staff and is looking to help lead the Demon Deacons to their first national championship in men's soccer when they play the Buckeyes on Sunday in the College Cup final.


Wake Forest beats Virginia Tech to advance to NCAA soccer final

Marcus Tracy led Wake Forest to the championship game in the NCAA Men's College Cup, scoring twice in the second half in the Demon Deacons' 2-0 victory semifinal victory Friday night over ACC rival Virginia Tech. Tracy scored on a leaping header in the 51st minute and completed the scoring in the 82nd minute to send Wake Forest to the NCAA championship game for the first time in school history.
