With conditions more favoring the European visitors than the anticipated "home" side, Mexico and Finland battled to a scoreless draw in a match between under-23 national teams Thursday at Pizza Hut Park.

Guillermo Ochoa made four saves to help Mexico's under-23 team tie Finland 0-0 in an international friendly Thursday night. Snow had to be plowed off of the pitch and piled behind the sideline to clear the field before kickoff. The announced crowd of 11,780 filled up barely half of the 20,250-seat stadium.

US considering 6 sites for World Cup qualifying semifinals
The U.S. Soccer Federation is considering six sites for its three possible home matches in the semifinals of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. In contention to host the games are Bridgeview, Ill.; Columbus, Ohio; Commerce City, Colo.; Frisco, Texas; Seattle; and Washington, D.C., U.S. Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati said Thursday.

Nicolas Vigneri scored in the 14th minute to give Cruz Azul of Mexico City a 1-0 victory over cross-town rival UNAM Pumas in a Group B match of InterLiga tournament Tuesday night. In the first game, Monterrey's Humberto Suazo scored in the 12th minute and his team survived playing one man down for 53 minutes to beat San Luis 1-0.

Humberto Suazo scored in the 12th minute and Monterrey survived playing one man down for 53 minutes to beat San Luis 1-0 in the first game of the Group B doubleheader at the InterLiga soccer tournament Tuesday night. San Luis had already qualified for Saturday's championship doubleheader and finished group play with six points.

Richard Nunez scored in the 75th minute to lead Club America to a 2-1 victory over Toluca on Sunday in the InterLiga tournament. Club America (2-0-0 Group A) clinched a spot in one of the tournament's final two matches, which will be played Saturday. When Houston Dynamo and FC Dallas take the field on Saturday in Frisco, it will be unlike any other time they have met in the brief history of the intrastate rivalry.
Dynamo still wary of Texas rivals
