Chinese champion Guangzhou Evergrande opened its 2012 Asian Champions League campaign with a 5-1 thrashing of last year's beaten finalist Jeonbuk Motors on Wednesday. South Korea appoint Choi Kang-hee as coach

South Korea has appointed Choi Kang-hee from club side Jeonbuk Motors as national team coach. The Korea Football Association said Wednesday that Choi will replace Cho Kwang-rae, who was fired earlier this month after a defeat to Lebanon jeopardized the country's chances of advancing in Asian qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
