Jose Mourinho’s spokesman of course had something to say about Barca-Milan
Though Jose Mourinho claimed he would not watch the second leg of Barcelona and Milan's Champions League quarterfinal, the fact that Zlatan Ibrahimovic invoked his name after the referee gave Barca two decisive penalties must have called Mourinho's attention to the situation.
So, Jose's official spokesman Eladio Parames (who may or may not be one of Jose's pseudonyms) went on Twitter after the match and shared a very Mourinhoish point of view about Barcelona in the Champions League. From Football Italia :
"Every year we learn new things," Mou's spokesman Eladio Paramés wrote on Twitter . "For instance, now we know that you can blow the whistle for a penalty before the ball comes into play.
"Chelsea, Inter, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Milan have all been penalised. At least now we know who is going to win the Champions League!"
Which club could he possibly be talking about? Probably Bayern Munich. They've been playing really well.
Galatasaray fears Champions League ban
Turkish league leader Galatasaray fears being expelled from next season's Champions League by UEFA if national football leaders fail to address match-fixing allegations implicating other clubs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic congratulates Pep Guardiola on advancing to the Champions League semifinals
I'm clapping for you, Pep.
In spite of my devastating taunts and fear-inducing ponytail, your troupe of hyperactive garden gnomes defeated Zlatan, once again crushing my dream of finally adding the Champions League trophy to my already overflowing silverware Zlabinet. So being the bigger man (I'm a 6'5" Zlatzilla and you're a Pepsqueak) I must congratulate and applaud you.
Except this is sarcastic applause, Pep. And my congratulations are as sincere as a bag of waffles. I bet you feel terrible now.
Ibrahimovic left disgusted by Barca homecoming
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's return to Barcelona ended with him feeling "disgusted" after two penalties led to AC Milan's 3-1 loss in the Champions League. Ibrahimovic returned to the Camp Nou for the first time since his 2010 exit from the Spanish champions after just one season and while the Sweden striker set up the Italian club's lone goal, he was kept from scoring.
Nigel De Jong does impression of a Charlie Adam penalty kick at Man City’s training ground
Man City's YouTube channel asks if this is the "worst shot ever?" But that isn't really a fair question considering the fact that Nigel De Jong blasted this ball into the trees as a tribute to Charlie Adam's effort against Cardiff in the Carling Cup final shootout. I mean, that had to be what he was doing, right? Maybe?
Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic did this during Milan's training session at the Camp Nou on Monday...
