Walter Martinez's 19th-minute goal stood up and Honduras held on to beat Guatemala 1-0 on Saturday night in an exhibition game. Amado Guevara centered a pass to Martinez just outside the Guatemala penalty area. Martinez dribbled inside the box and blasted a shot from 15 yards that eluded goalkeeper Paulo Cesar Motta.


U.S. to play Brazil Sept. 9, replacing match against Mexico
The U.S. soccer team will play South American champion Brazil in an exhibition game Sept. 9 in Chicago, replacing a match against Mexico that was called off because of financial problems. This will be the first game between Brazil and the U.S. since 2003, when the Brazilians won 2-1 in overtime in the Gold Cup semifinals in Miami.
