Australia's Holman to join Villa from AZ Alkmaar

Aston Villa says Australia midfielder Brett Holman has agreed to join the Premier League club at the end of the season when his contract with Dutch leader AZ Alkmaar expires. The 27-year-old Holman has spent a decade in the Netherlands, having initially signed for Feyenoord before spells with Excelsior and NEC Nijmegen.

Ramon Zomer equalized for NEC from a pass by Leroy George in the 89th minute to tighten the title race. George had given the home side a 41st-minte lead before PSV hit back with goals from Balazs Dzsudzsak and Jeremain Lens.

Ajax captalized on Twente's draw, beating VVV-Venlo off Mounir El Hamdaoui's first-half goal to move to within three points of the defending champions.
