SEOUL, Feb 29 - South Korea squeezed into the fourth round of qualifying for the World Cup after overcoming a sluggish start to beat Kuwait 2-0 in Seoul on Wednesday.

Park scores twice as SKorea draws 2-2 with Poland
Arsenal striker Park Chu-young scored twice as South Korea drew 2-2 with Poland in an international friendly at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Friday. Robert Lewandowski of Borussia Dortmund put Poland ahead after 32 minutes. South Korea hit back midway through the second half when Park scored his first from a Seo Jung-jin cross, beating his Arsenal teammate Lukasz Fabianski in the Poland goal.

Lee Dong-guk's four goals guided Jeonbuk Motors past Cerezo Osaka 6-1 into the Asian Champions League semifinals, where it will play Al Ittihad after it advanced despite a 1-0 loss at FC Seoul on Tuesday. Mauricio Molina's late goal wasn't enough for Seoul as Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad advanced from the quarterfinal stage 3-2 on aggregate.

Al Ittihad through to AFC Champions League semis
Al Ittihad of Saudi Arabia advanced to the Asian Champions League semifinals Tuesday despite losing 1-0 to FC Seoul. After winning the first leg 3-1, the Saudi side's disciplined defense spent most of the match protecting that lead. Seoul's only goal came through Mauricio Molina with six minutes to go, with Ittihad advancing 3-2 on aggregate.

Korean international former Choi Sung-kuk has become the latest player to confess to involvement in the country's growing match-fixing scandal, local media reported on Wednesday.

Prosecutors are investigating former South Korea forward Choi Sung-kuk's links to a match-fixing scandal after he acknowledged attending a meeting between players and gambling brokers, a football official said Wednesday.
