The first U.S. network telecast of a European Championship final was seen by 3.76 million viewers on ABC. Spain's 1-0 victory over Germany in Sunday's final got a 2.3 national rating, the network said Thursday. It was seen in 2.55 million homes. When ABC broadcast the 2006 World Cup final, Italy's penalty-kicks victory over France in the 2006 World Cup final got a 7.0 national rating.

Goalkeeper Jose Francisco Cevallos helped Liga de Quito become the first Ecuadorean winner in Copa Libertadores history, stopping three penalty kicks in a 3-1 shootout victory over Fluminense. Liga won Latin America's most important club competition after falling 3-1 in regulation, which tied the two-game aggregate score 5-5.
US women beat Norway 4-0 in pre-Olympic exhibition
Midfielder Lindsay Tarpley scored an early goal, and the United States beat Norway 4-0 on Wednesday in tuneup for the Olympic women's soccer tournament. Carli Lloyd, Angela Hucles and Abby Wambach added goals for the Americans, an Olympic favorite along with Norway, Brazil and Germany. The United States improved to 19-0 this year, including a penalty-kicks victory over Canada.
