Doug Warren made a sprawling save to his left on the fourth penalty kick and the New England Revolution advanced to the U.S. Open Cup semifinals with a shootout victory over Crystal Palace Baltimore. The Revolution will play MLS rival D.C. United in the semifinals on Aug. 12. United beat the Chicago Fire, another MLS team, 2-1 to advance.


FIFA seeks neutral venue for qualifiers
FIFA is searching for a neutral venue to stage two World Cup qualifiers between warring neighbors Sudan and Chad. World football's governing body has told the two countries to play their African Group 10 games in the same city on Sept. 6 and 10. "The city where the matches will be held will be communicated at a later date," FIFA said in a statement Wednesday.
