Palestine defeated Afghanistan 2-0 in the first leg of their World Cup qualifier, boosting its chances of reaching the second round. The match was considered Afghanistan's home match but was played in Tajikistan on Wednesday because of the security situation in Afghanistan. Murad Alyan opened the scoring for Palestine in the 28th minute.
